CIPA honours Saint Mary's University

The Canadian Information Productivity Awards (CIPA) honoured Saint Mary's University (SMU) in Halifax with the Silver Award of Excellence in the Customer Centricity category for its Project Nexus.

Between 1998 and 2006, the university incrementally implemented an enterprise resource planning system (ERP) and a Nexus database to help it compete globally for students and offer online learning management and course delivery.

The system enables the university to stay in contact with alumni and track donations. Since implementing Nexus, the school's annual donations have reached an average of $4.3 million from $1.6 million.
